It is scheduled to take place on October 18-28, 2020 at the Tbilisi\nHistory Museum (Caravanserai). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Biennale aims to build\nconditions for professional development of young stage designers and launch of\nan intercultural dialogue. This unique platform, which is created for young\nscenographers will enable them to present themselves and their projects, review\nand assess the ongoing process taking place in this specific field of art,\nshare their creative ideas, participate in professional discussions, plan and\ndevelop joint projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biennale\nwill unite the following activities: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\nInternational exhibition of national and students\u2019 expositions; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\nEducational program MasterLab (lectures, master classes); <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\nOpen forum \u2013 round table, discussion of the participating works, creative\ndiscussions, mini presentations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nthe frames of the Biennale the guests and participants will have an opportunity\nto get familiar with the highlights of Tbilisi including the theatre buildings\nof the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Organizer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organizer of the Tbilisi\nInternational Biennale of Stage Design is the Valerian Gunia Union of Young\nTheatre Artists \u2013 OISTAT National Center of Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Valerian Gunia Union of\nYoung Theatre Artists \u2013 OISTAT National Center of Georgia will hold the 3rd\nTbilisi International Biennale of Stage Design on October 18-28, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All participating countries\nare responsible for settling down organizational, artistic and financial issues\nrelated to presentation of their pavilions. Country exhibitions will be\norganized by the national curators who will be in charge of selecting the\nparticipating artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020 the Biennale will\nfocus on two separate sections of international exhibitions: professional and\nstudent\u2019 shows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifying criteria for participation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Working experience: at\nleast 3 years of working experience in the fields of theater, cinema,\ntelevision or other shows as well as multimedia scenography including computer\ngames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The applicants selected by the\nnational curators from the respective countries will be eligible to participate\nin the Tbilisi Biennale of Stage Design. National curators will be in charge of\nadministration and organizing of expositions of their countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifying criteria for works:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The presented projects\nshould have been realized and\/or have had premieres in 2018-2020; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Possible forms of\nsubmission: scene or costume sketches, photos of performances, shows, video footages,\nanimations, installations, video art or multimedia scenography including\ncomputer game designs as well as costumes, dummies, puppets etc.; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The foreign participants are\nadvised to present at the Biennale the original sketches. In case it is\ncomplicated to obtain special permits for export of the works, high quality\nprints will also be accepted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Selection procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Representatives of guest\ncountries will be selected by national curators of the pavilions of the\nrespective countries; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Georgian participants and\ntheir works will be selected by the Georgian Curatorial Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technical<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>conditions<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>and<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>information<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Professional section: 25 square meters of\nspace in the main hall of the Museum (sliding exhibition boxes);<\/li><li>Students\u2019 section: 20 square meters of\nspace in the side hall of the Museum;<\/li><li>Participation in and attendance of lectures\nand master classes of international experts are free of charge for all\nparticipants of the Biennale. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Duration of exhibition: two\nfull working days. One working day will be allocated to its dismantling. &#8211; All\nspecific technical and\/or otherwise requests and details must be agreed with\nthe Georgian team of organizers and the representatives of the exhibition space\nprior to the start of the Biennale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Travel and exposition\nexpenses should be covered by the participants themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application package should include the following\ndocuments: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Application form<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Photo (portrait)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 CV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Copies of works: at least 8\nunits of high resolution copies with indication of the relevant cataloging data\n(name, author, director, location and date of the premiere, size and material\nof the works).
